PRESENTERS: 

Anu Kalaskar, MD

Dr. Kalaskar is a pediatric infectious disease specialist who has been at Children's MN since November 2010. She graduated from the University Of Utah School Of Medicine in 2004 and subsequently completed pediatric residency and pediatric infectious disease fellowship training at University of Texas - Houston. In addition to providing clinical consultative services in pediatric infectious disease, she is the medical director for the Infectious Disease Department and continues in her role as medical liaison to the infection prevention and control team. Over the past 2 years she has served on the Children's HICS COVID response team and continues to be involved in various aspects of the hospital's COVID response. She lives in St. Paul with her husband and 2 daughters.

Christina Koutsari, PharmD, PhD, BCPS, BCIDP

Christina Koutsari, PharmD, PhD, BCPS, BCIDP is an antimicrobial stewardship/infectious diseases pharmacist on both campuses (Saint Paul and Minneapolis). She is deeply committed to providing excellent care to her patients, optimizing antibiotic use, minimizing toxicity, and improving patient outcomes. She is originally from Greece and had a career as a scientist in cardio metabolic health before becoming a pharmacist. She also held national records in Greece for Olympic style weightlifting and 100 m track-and-field. In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, meeting friends, traveling, exercising, and learning something new every day.
