Forward10th Annual PDC - Uncovering Hidden Voices
In celebration of Nurses Week and being led by REACH: Children’s Nursing Professional Practice Model, nurses will learn how to improve care for transgender and gender diverse kids. Finding your nursing voice and what to do if you have lost your voice through creative, will occur through inspiring messages. Strategies to speak up confidently as a human first and in your personal life will be shared and how to play up strengths identified nursing roles. How can we prepare ahead of time to have the words to speak?
Speakers
Dr. Angela Goepferd
Angela Kade Goepferd, MD, is the Chief Education Officer for Children’s Minnesota, Chief of Staff, pediatrician in the Children’s Minneapolis Primary Care clinic and medical director of Children’s Gender Health Program. Dr. Goepferd has been with Children’s for 15 years, and in that time has been an advocate for advancing equitable healthcare for all children, working to ensure a positive experience for patients, families and professional staff.
Cat Golden, BSN, RN
Cat Golden, BSN, RN has a passion for helping nurses find the confidence they need to create their own schedules, take a chance on their dreams and maintain self-care sparked her movement, Nurses Inspire Nurses. She runs the Nurses Inspire Nurses shop and hosts monthly events and coffee talks, as well as, provides free resources to support nurses no matter their location. Her motto i s LEAP LAND LIVE. Leap, take a chance on yourself. Land, confidently on your own two feet. Live a life by your design.

Increase competence in the ability to apply knowledge, skills and judgement in practice regarding transgender care and your nursing voice.
