L042225 Jill Davis Critical Care Nursing Conference: United for Progress in Pulmonary Hypertension Care
The Jill Davis Intensive Care Nursing Fund was created by Stephen and Jodi Davis and their children, Jenny, Tim, and Beth Anne Davis in memory of their daughter and sister Jill. Jill passed away following her open-heart surgery at 13 months. Through this fund, it was their hope to provide annual continuing education to healthcare professionals in intensive care to aid in their ability to provide high-quality patient care, much like Jill received. This conference is designed for nurses and any other health professionals that care for patients in the pediatric critical care setting.
Critical pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a severe and life-threatening condition resulting from a variety of underlying causes, including congenital heart disease. Without timely diagnosis and treatment, critical pulmonary hypertension can lead to severe patient decompensation. This conference will address pathophysiology, early detection and diagnosis, management strategies, and care considerations through a patient's lifespan. Participants will engage in interactive activities focused on strategies to manage stress and foster self-care. Additionally, best practices and innovative approaches to implement effective communication with adolescent patients will be presented.
The Jill Davis Conference will occur in person from 0800-1615 on April 22nd and will have a virtual option. The virtual option is a live stream and will not be recorded to be played back. 6.16 continuing education credits will be available through the Board of Nursing. In addition, lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided.
