Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023
12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Central Time

Presented by Clifton Brock, MD
Midwest Fetal Care Center

Testing monochorionic twins for twin-to-twin transmission syndrome (TTTS) in utero starting at 16 weeks can increase the chances of survival for both twins in the womb. This is the focus of a special Born Ready presentation by Dr. Clifton Brock, maternal fetal medicine specialist at the Midwest Fetal Care Center.

Objectives:

  • Explain the embryology and related pathology unique to monochorionic placentation.
  • Describe the rationale for surveillance and strengths and weaknesses of current clinical guidelines dealing with surveillance.
  • Share how data supports (or not!) current screening guidelines.
  • Identify concerning ultrasound surveillance findings that warrant escalation and intervention.
