Children's Minnesota hosts this 0.75-hour acute care multidisciplinary simulation - Bronchiolitis in collaboration with PICU.
This will be the only session offered in collaboration with the PICU from 1:00-2:00 pm. Please click on REGISTER tab to register.
Target Audience
Children's Minnesota nurses, respiratory therapists and hospitalists.
Learning Objectives
- Review evidence-based best practices for care of acute viral bronchiolitis
- Recognize escalation steps as described in the Children's Bronchiolitis guideline for clinical deterioration
- Review and practice techniques for effective BVM ventilation and intubation
- Recognize appropriate escalation of care via RRT and Code Blue
- Use close-loop communication to care for a decompensating patient with a multidisciplinary team
45-minute in-situ simulation session will focus on recognition and management of the deteriorating patient in a multidisciplinary team.
