This training will provide the attendees with the knowledge and skills to transport neonatal patients safely and effectively from one medical facility to another.

Target Audience

Nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and paramedics who are needing training in the specifics of neonatal emergency transportation.

Learning Objectives

  • Conduct a neonatal assessment for a patient in need of transport to a higher level of care
  • Recognize and manage common and potentially life-threatening neonatal conditions as appropriate for the transport population
  • Perform identified skills for neonatal resuscitation and stabilization; Airway, respiratory, sepsis, medication administration, safe transportation
  • Demonstrate effective team behaviors including leadership and roles, clear communication using closed loop, situation monitoring and mutual support
