Children's Minnesota hosts this 0.75-hour acute care multidisciplinary simulation - Bronchiolitis & Respiratory Failure.
Target Audience
Children's Minnesota nurses, respiratory therapists and hospitalists.
Learning Objectives
- Review evidenced-based best practices for care of acute viral bronchiolitis
- Recognize escalation steps as described in the Children's Bronchiolitis guideline for clinical deterioration
- Review and practice technique for effective BVM ventilation
- Recognize appropriate escalation of care via RRT and Code Blue
- Demonstrate closed-loop communication to care for a decompensating patient with a multidisciplinary team
45-minute in-situ simulation session will focus on recognition and management of the deteriorating patient in a multidisciplinary team.
