L032224 Neonatal APP Boot Camp - New Learner
This program prepares the Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either NNP or PA, or NICU Hospitalists, to utilize best practices in procedural skills and leadership and communication skills. The class utilizes simulation based mastery learning (SBML) to help the participant build confidence and competence during role transition. SBML allows all learners the opportunity to achieve the learning outcomes with an individualized amount of time required based on learner needs.
Program Goal: Upon completion of the neonatal boot camp, NNPs/PAs/Hospitalists will develop skills essential to the transition to practice as a new APP.
Target Audience
Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP), Physician Assistants (PA), and NICU Hospitalists recently transitioning into a provider role in Neonatology. NNPs hired with less than three years of experience as a NNP to Children’s Minnesota will complete the Neonatal boot camp as part of the orientation process.
