Pediatric Sleep and Mental Health: Why Sleep Belongs in Every Specialty

Objectives:
- Review normal sleep throughout childhood and adolescence, including developmental and psychosocial factors that affect sleep.
- Describe common sleep concerns across development.
- Discuss the impact of sleep on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, including how this related to patient outcomes.
- Present best practices for assessing sleep concerns in a busy pediatric/specialty clinic and practical sleep tips for promoting healthy sleep.
