Objectives:
- Identify common communication barriers experienced by Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients, families, and healthcare employees in healthcare settings.
- Demonstrate evidence-based communication strategies when interacting with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
- Recognize the impact of effective communication on patient safety, health outcomes, and patient experience.
- Discuss best practices for working with interpreters and other accessibility resources in clinical environments.
