Dr. Annie Andrews, CEO & Founder of Their Future. Our Vote, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, George Washington University, Senior Advisor, Everytown and Moms Demand Action

Dr. Annie Andrews is a pediatrician and mom, who has dedicated her career to fighting for a brighter future for all children. After working as a pediatrician at children's hospitals for 15 years, she decided to run for Congress to give children a voice in Washington, D.C.. She was the Democratic nominee in South Carolina’s first congressional district in 2022. 

Annie is currently a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she cares for children and adolescents at Children’s National Hospital. She is the CEO and Founder of Their Future. Our Vote., a non-profit organization dedicated to giving children a voice in Washington, D.C.. She is also a Senior Advisor to Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action.  

She is a gun violence prevention researcher and community advocate working to reduce the frequency of pediatric firearm injuries with a focus on secure storage counseling. Annie is a frequent invited speaker at children’s hospitals and medical schools across the country on topics related to child health advocacy and gun violence prevention.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a 2022 graduate of Furman University Riley Institute’s Diversity Leaders Initiative.  

 Annie received her MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and went on to complete her residency training in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Emma Benoit A suicide attempt left 16-year-old varsity cheerleader, Emma Benoit, paralyzed, but propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope, and shine more light on the fact that 20 young people die every day by suicide in the in the United States. Emma is an uplifting speaker who has shared her powerful story and message with thousands of people through conferences, events and her documentary film called My Ascension that chronicles her recovery journey and advocacy work, while addressing the youth suicide epidemic.

Veronica Gomez-Lobo, MD Dr. Veronica Gomez-Lobo, MD, is a pediatric and adolescent obstetrician gynecologist currently serving as senior clinician and director of the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program within the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. She has published and lectured extensively regarding issues in the field of pediatric gynecology, including fertility preservation, differences in sex development, congenital anomalies and transgender care. 

Rachel Hardeman, PhD. MPH Dr. Rachel R. Hardeman is a tenured associate professor in the Division of Health Policy & Management at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, the Blue Cross endowed professor in Health and Racial Equity, and the founding director of the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity. She applies the tools of population health science and health services research to elucidate a critical and complex determinant of health inequity—racism. Dr. Hardeman leverages the frameworks of critical race theory and reproductive justice to inform her equity-centered work which aims to build the empirical evidence of racism’s impact on health particularly for Black birthing people and their babies
