Pediatric cardiology is an evolving field, with new studies, patient experiences and procedures resulting in shifts in our care practices on a continuous basis. Dr. Bacha will be sharing up-to-date strategies for new developments in pediatric cardiac surgery including surgical management of aortic and mitral valve disease in the very young and allogenic heart valve transplantation, optimal multidisciplinary team functioning including the novel structure of a cardiac NICU, and the emerging role of regionalization in the delivery of congenital heart surgery in the United States.

- Identify the clinical scenarios wherein allogenic heart valve transplantation may have a role.
