Hands-on Wound Care and Suture Workshop

This is a proctored skills workshop with Robert Tibesar, MD in which participants will be able to demonstrate, practice, and gain mastery in acute pediatric wound care and suturing.

Target Audience

Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Nurses who suture.

This workshop is optional unless you are a Children's Minnesota employee who needs to complete this course as part of your credentialing or program requirements. 

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate instruments and suture material to perform various types of suture techniques.
  • Demonstrate the techniques used for tissue undermining, the corrections of simple tissue deficits, and the application of wound adhesive.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 3.5 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to the ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
