L093024 National Child Passenger Safety Certification
The National Child Passenger Safety Certification program administered by Safe Kids Worldwide prepares participants to conduct car seat education with families and community members.
The program takes place over four days.
Participants are required to attend all four days listed below:
September 30 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
October 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
October 7 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
October 11 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Learning Objectives
As a child passenger safety technician (CPST), participants will:
Develop a general understanding of car seat brands, parts, and functions
Learn best practice for safety in transporting children in motor vehicles
Be able to direct families on how to navigate appropriate resources to determine if their seats are being used properly
Demonstrate competence in installing various car seats and harnessing children appropriately

Each morning and afternoon session include a 15-minute break. Break times will vary based on content covered.

After entering the main level doors and going through the security door, turn right and head toward the cafeteria. The Canteen area is located within the cafeteria. We will be there to welcome you and help you find your way if needed.
Children's Minnesota employees attending this training should park in the employee parking ramp and enter via the employee entrance on the lower level. You will the take the stairway or elevator to the 3rd Floor and enter the cafeteria/Canteen area.

Children's Minnesota designates this live activity for a maximum of 27.75 ANCC nursing contact hour. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program offers 27.75 contact hours of continuing education. Most medical professional organizations accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. It is the individual’s responsibility to determine whether an education activity meets the continuing education requirements of their respective licensures and/or professional boards. Go to your respective organization’s website for more detailed information regarding credit requirements.

Course fee includes a $95 Safe Kids registration fee, which we will pay to them on your behalf, and a $50 local fee, which will cover the cost of snacks, beverages, course supplies, and a meal on the last day.
