Peer Support Programs
The healthcare environment exposes healthcare workers to unexpected and near-miss events including patient harm and medical errors. The peer support programs support the on-going work related to culture of safety while focusing on the second victim phenomenon.
These programs are limited to Children's MN employees only.

Schwartz Center Rounds

The Schwartz Center Rounds program offers healthcare providers regularly scheduled time during their fast-paced work lives to openly and honestly discuss the social and emotional issues they face in caring for patients and families. The focus is on the human dimension of health care.
These programs are limited to Children's MN employees only.
DEA Requirements/MATE Act Resources
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) released materials in March 2023 related to the new Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. The Act requires new or renewing DEA licensees, as of June 27, 2023, to have completed a total of at least eight hours of training on opioid or other substance use disorders and the appropriate treatment of pain.
In efforts to support clinicians, we have developed training opportunities to assist in meeting this requirement. Click in the courses below for pediatric focused opioid training. We also have additional resources listed for non-pediatric training or information related to the MATE Act .
